Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormone disorder that can cause a range of symptoms, including hirsutism, which is excess facial and body hair. While many with PCOS grow thicker hair on their face and body, some experience hair thinning and hair loss, which is referred to as female pattern hair loss.

In most women with androgenic alopecia the frontal hairline remains intact despite diffuse hair loss. The average number of hairs lost in a day is about 100–150. It should be noted that it may take at least 20–25% of total loss of scalp hair before it may be visibly recognized by the woman.

You can reverse PCOS without any medication. Here’s how

  • Reduce the intake of high glycemic foods.
  • Include ghee in your diet.
  • Reduce intake of milk.
  • Reduce intake of fruits.
  • Keep a limited eating window.
  • Add movement to your life.
  • Exposure to sun.

Foods in a low PCOS diet include whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits, starchy vegetables, and other unprocessed, low-carbohydrate foods.

Anti-inflammatory foods, such as berries, fatty fish, leafy greens, and extra virgin olive oil, may reduce inflammation-related symptoms, such as fatigue.

A DASH diet is rich in fish, poultry, fruits, vegetables whole grain, and low-fat dairy produce. The diet discourages foods that are high in saturated fat and sugar.
