Curcumin is a substance found in the spice turmeric. Curcumin has long been used in Asian medicine to treat a variety of illnesses. Now some research suggests that curcumin may help prevent or treat cancer.

Turmeric contains curcumin, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Most studies used turmeric extracts that are standardized to include large amounts of curcumin.

Curcumin is thought to have antioxidant properties, which means it may decrease swelling and inflammation. It’s being explored as a cancer treatment in part because inflammation appears to play a role in cancer.

Laboratory and animal research suggests that curcumin may prevent cancer, slow the spread of cancer, make chemotherapy more effective and protect healthy cells from damage by radiation therapy.

Although traditional treatments are standard for all cancers, some people are also looking to complementary therapies for relief. For some, this means adding curcumin to their daily regimen.

Curcumin is the main active ingredient in the spice turmeric. Although turmeric is primarily a culinary spice, it’s also used in traditional Indian medicine.

It’s extract, curcumin, is thought to have many health benefits. Researchers are investigating its potential to treat cancer and other conditions.

The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of curcumin in turmeric has the potential to arrest the development of several types of cancer, according to various established research reports. Some laboratory studies have had promising results indicating that curcumin in turmeric has anti-cancer properties. For instance, in 2013, an international laboratory study on bowel cancer cells looked at the effects of combined treatment of curcumin and chemotherapy instead of chemotherapy alone, which proved to be a better and effective treatment. Clinical cancer research suggests that anti-cancer properties exhibited by curcumin effectively control the occurrence of cancer.

There are the plants and herbs and minerals that activate our immune system, those plants are called to be anti-cancer, Curcumin is one of those plants.
But, the mixtures of those ingredients amplify and multiply their effects several hundreds and even several thousand times.
